Last spring, our Baby Audrey turned 1. As she is still too young to make decisions about her own party, I started thinking in advance about the atmosphere I wanted to create on the day. At that age, I feel there is no need to hire an entertainer or book a venue since you can still keep the number of guests to a minimum. It can simply be a sweet family celebration. Things change once they start going to school though…
I chose a mix of pink and cream, and asked a Portuguese company I had worked with in the past, called Lima Limao to create a teddy bear character. Once we agreed on the design, they sent me a personalised kit that included a banner, cupcake picks and many more adorable goodies. I then ordered the cake from a baker whose work I had noticed at another party. Her cake was absolutely delicious, which is not always the case with those elaborate creations. Often, they look beautiful but taste horrible. Although a bit more pricey, Sweet Bea’s Bakery cakes are worth every penny. Our lovely cupcakes were ordered from Royal Cake by S.
In total, we had about ten children, accompanied by their parents, which was a perfect number. We had pizzas delivered around 6pm for the kids’ dinner so overall a very relaxed and fun afternoon. We have officially entered Toddlerville!
